Best of All Lookout: The Journey is the Destination!

Best of All Lookout: The Journey is the Destination!

I've explored my fair share of lookout points, but the Best of All Lookout in Springbrook National Park has easily become my favourite. From that height, I could see miles of lush greenery and the clouds seemed so close that I felt like I could touch them.

It's not uncommon to see wallabies along the roads leading to the Best of All Lookout. These cute and curious marsupials are native to the region and can often be seen grazing or hopping along the roadside, particularly during the early morning or late afternoon hours.

Wallabies can be seen along the way to Best of All Lookout

While it can be a delight to see these animals up close, it's important to exercise caution when driving in areas where wildlife is present. Wallabies, like many other wild animals, can be unpredictable and may dart out onto the road unexpectedly. It's important to drive slowly and keep a lookout for any animals that may be in the vicinity.

If you do happen to spot a wallaby or other wildlife along the road, it's important to admire them from a safe distance and not to approach or attempt to feed them. These are wild animals and should be treated with respect and caution.

The car park at the Best of All Lookout is the starting point for one of the most awe-inspiring hikes I've ever experienced.

There is a tower located nearby, on the hill behind the lookout. The tower is a telecommunication tower, and it may include a microwave repeater or other communication equipment.

Telecommunication facility

It's worth noting that the tower itself is not part of the Best of All Lookout site, and visitors cannot access it. The tower is located on private land and is used primarily for communication purposes. While it may be visible from the Best of All Lookout, it is not a part of the lookout or its facilities.

Stairway leading to Best of All Lookout

The trailhead was clearly marked, and I followed the winding path as it led me deeper into the lush rainforest. The air was thick with the scent of eucalyptus and other native flora, it was a feeling of peace and tranquility throughout the hike. A 350-meter paved path that leads from the car park upstairs to the Best of All Lookout platform, which provides wheelchair accessibility and an easy walk for those who may have difficulty with the longer and more challenging hike. The paved path is a wonderful addition to the lookout, making it more accessible to all visitors who wish to enjoy the stunning views without the need for a longer hike

I stood on the wooden platform and took in the scenery for a while. The silence was only broken by the occasional bird chirping and the sound of the wind blowing through the trees. It was truly a peaceful and serene experience.

As I looked around, I noticed that other visitors were similarly struck by the stunning views. Some were taking photographs, while others simply stood quietly, taking in the natural beauty of their surroundings.

As I was leaving the lookout, I noticed a sign that read "Best of All Lookout: The Journey is the Destination." This couldn't be more true!
