On a beautiful morning, I set out on the trailhead, excited to explore the wonders of this incredible destination. The hike started off easy enough, with a gentle incline through a lush forest filled with the sounds of birds and wildlife. But as the trail began to ascend, the climb became challenging.
As I made my way up the mountain, I felt the sun on my face and the cool breeze in my hair. From the top of the mountain, I was treated to a panoramic view of Noosa National Park and the sparkling blue waters of the Pacific Ocean. The view was simply stunning, and I felt a sense of awe and wonder at the natural beauty that surrounded me. I spent some time taking in the view and soaking up the sun, feeling grateful for the opportunity to experience such a beautiful place. From the top of Emu Mountain, I could see the entire Noosa coastline, stretching out before me in a panorama of sparkling blue water and golden sand. The view was simply stunning, and I felt a sense of awe and wonder at the natural beauty that surrounded me.
One of the highlights of the Emu Mountain hike was the opportunity to explore the ancient rock formations that dot the landscape. These rock formations, which are believed to be over 25 million years old, are a testament to the incredible power of nature and the enduring beauty of the earth.
But the journey wasn't over yet. As I descended the mountain, I found myself facing new challenges. The steep decline made it difficult to keep my footing, and I had to be careful not to slip on the loose rocks and gravel.

Directions to Emu Mountain
Here are the directions to Emu Mountain from both Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast:
From Brisbane:
- Start by taking the Bruce Highway (M1) north towards the Sunshine Coast.
- Take the exit for Sunshine Motorway (State Route 70) and continue towards Noosa Heads.
- Take the exit for David Low Way (State Route 6) and turn right onto David Low Way.
- Follow David Low Way for approximately 3 kilometers, then turn right onto Park Road, which is the main entrance to the Noosa National Park.
- Once inside the park, follow the signs for the Coastal Track and then the Tanglewood Track, which will take you to the Emu Mountain Summit Walk.
From the Sunshine Coast:
- Start by taking David Low Way (State Route 6) towards Noosa Heads.
- Turn left onto Park Road, which is the main entrance to the Noosa National Park.
- Once inside the park, follow the signs for the Coastal Track and then the Tanglewood Track, which will take you to the Emu Mountain Summit Walk.
Note: The directions are the same from both Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast, once you reach Noosa Heads. The Emu Mountain Summit Walk involves some steep sections and can be challenging, so it is recommended that you wear comfortable shoes and bring plenty of water with you. It is also important to stay on the designated walking trails and follow any signs or instructions provided by park rangers.
